The Public's Verdict

YouTube

YouTube is a global video-sharing platform headquartered in San Bruno, California. Founded in February 2005 by Steve Chen, Chad Hurley, and Jawed Karim, former employees of PayPal, YouTube allows users to upload, view, rate, share, add to playlists, report, comment on videos, and subscribe to other users. It offers a wide variety of user-generated and corporate media videos. Available content includes video clips, TV show clips, music videos, short and documentary films, audio recordings, movie trailers, live streams, and other content such as video blogging, short original videos, and educational videos. YouTube has grown rapidly since its launch and is now considered one of the primary platforms for video consumption and digital content distribution. It uses advanced algorithms to recommend videos to users and is a significant platform for digital advertising. As of now, YouTube operates as one of Google’s subsidiaries, having been acquired by Google in November 2006.

In general, it’s great, but the algorithm is super stupid. When you watch one video, it keeps recommending the same topic over and over again.
