He co-founded Google with Larry Page in 1998 while they were Ph.D. students at Stanford University. Brin’s work on the development of the Google search engine, which utilized a new approach to online search based on the relevance of web pages, revolutionized the way information is accessed and consumed globally. He served as president of Google’s parent company, Alphabet Inc., until stepping down in 2019 but remains actively involved as a board member and shareholder.
