Jeff Bezos is an American entrepreneur and industrialist, best known as the founder of Amazon.com, Inc. Born on January 12, 1964, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Bezos started Amazon in 1994 as an online bookstore, which has since expanded into a global e-commerce and cloud computing giant. He served as CEO until 2021, when he transitioned to the role of executive chairman. Bezos also owns Blue Origin, an aerospace company developing technology for private space travel, and purchased The Washington Post in 2013.
