Ellen DeGeneres is an American comedian, television host, actress, and writer, born on January 26, 1958, in Metairie, Louisiana. She is widely recognized for her daytime talk show, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” which ran from 2003 to 2022 and won numerous Daytime Emmy Awards. Ellen came to prominence in the 1990s with her sitcom “Ellen,” where she made television history in 1997 by coming out as a lesbian on-air. Her humor, warmth, and advocacy for LGBTQ rights have made her an influential figure in entertainment and a champion of various social causes. Ellen’s career has also included roles in film, authoring books, and voice acting, notably as Dory in Pixar’s “Finding Nemo” and “Finding Dory.”
