Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, often referred to by her initials AOC, is a U.S. Representative for New York’s 14th congressional district. She was born on October 13, 1989, in the Bronx, New York City. Ocasio-Cortez is a member of the Democratic Party and is known for her progressive policies and advocacy for social justice, climate action, and economic reform. She gained national attention after defeating incumbent Joe Crowley in the 2018 Democratic primary, becoming one of the youngest women ever elected to Congress. Ocasio-Cortez is also a vocal supporter of the Green New Deal and Medicare for All.
